Presentation Description:  Most effective behavior management programs must deal with pairs of behaviors. You must strengthen the behavior you want while weakening the competing behaviors that you do not want. A discipline program should not only eliminate problem behavior, but it should also systematically build the positive behaviors that you want to replace the problems. Positive Discipline in the Classroom hands over the majority of the problem solving to the students. Using specific tools, students learn to take charge of their own problems and learn respectful ways to resolve conflicts.
